Data Center Management

  • Server intake & hosting of departmental administrative, instructional and research servers upon request.  (Limited to available rack space, power, and cooling)

Networking

  • Physical connection to College of Engineering networks and IP address assignment.
  • DNS and DHCP hosting for COE departments.
  • Host/service monitoring. (upon request)

Virtualization

  • Departmental, instructional, research and administrative virtual server hosting. (Available upon request and limited by virtual infrastructure capacity)

Instruction

  • Open access and instructional computing labs.
  • Remote access to computing lab systems.
  • Custom server provisioning and management of CoE classes.
  • Quarterly coordination with instructors for class software needs.
  • Software licensing and license server management.
  • GPU infrastructure for CoE classes.

File Services

  • Accounts and home directories (required for access to ECI's instructional computing lab systems)
  • Administrative shares via Samba
  • Authentication and authorization

Desktop/Departmental Services

  • Desktop/department support for CoE Departments, Institutes and Centers.
  • Hardware/system/software installation, updates, troubleshooting.
  • Fielding user-specific IT requests.
  • Jamf enterprise management of departmental Macintosh computers.

Research Computing Support

  • Research group servers specification, data center intake and lifecycle management.
  • Grant support and compliance
  • GPU Server Support

AV Design, Implementation and Management

  • Coordination with vendors/contractors for AV installations.
  • Ongoing support for College of Engineering Instructional AV Infrastructure.

Backup/Archival and Data Recovery

  • Upon request and limited by backup storage and network bandwidth, backups for departmental research, instructional and administrative systems.
